More retouching

A couple of my paintings spent a few years rolled up and when I finally pulled them out, they had creases in them. I used to PhotoShop to smooth out the creases and so I could use the images for my grad school applications. The before and after of a photo I retouched for a friend.

Life Drawing

More from the Society of Illustrators life drawing night.

Watercolors

A few works from an illustration class I took this spring.

menu

Menu and logo for my hypothetical catering.

Mary Ann

A few portraits of my mother

Flower on Fabric

Water-soluble oils on fabric and board. I was thinking about trying to merge the different patterns. You might recognize some of the fabrics from other works.

Society of Illustrators figure drawing session

Some of my drawings from a figure drawing session at the Society of Illustrators a few weeks ago.

Apple

Watercolor on paper. I painted this for a charity auction that a friend is organizing.

Feist poster

Map

Water-soluble oils on canvas. Based on the London Underground map.

Santorini Wine Museum

A few pictures I took at the Santorini Wine Museum, where they had several moving puppet displays as part of the exhibition. The puppets have that unnerving howdy-dowdy quality to them, their movements are jerky and sporadic, and the entire exhibit is in the cellar making the whole experience illuminating, yet entirely creepy. I think I've managed to capture some of the creepiness in these photos.

Baby on Flowers

Woman in Wallpaper

Water soluble oils on fabric and board. This painting always reminds people of the short story, The Yellow Wallpaper, though it's not based on it. (I finally read that story about a year after I made this.) I was thinking about matching foregrounds and backgrounds and what that does to the space and I like the pattern of the fabric.

Green Bedspread and Pants

Keys

My keys happened to land like this when I dropped them on the table.

Fiesta

Somewhat over enthusiastic still-life set up by art professor involving sombreros. Water soluble oils.
